Sky bar views

We finally figured out how to get into the marina and get to the Skybar and watch the moon rise. It was beautiful.

What to do on the day after the full moon

Catch a picture of the elusive Woody Woodpecker who wakes us up each morning, and make a screen door for the back door.

Pizza party

Under the rising full moon we got together with some of our friends and had the last pizza party of the season. Many people are heading north these days and in a few weeks we will be among the last ones left.

A slower pace of life

We've been moving in slow motion these days. Some beach time, a few errands, hanging out with friends, reading. There's a bunch of DVDs of current movies that are making the rounds and we've seen some good flix on our laptop. I think the bocci ball circuit is about to become active again. And tomorrow night is 2-for-1 pizza night on our patio.

One of our friends is an expert on birds and has taught us about the local birds here. Northie put up some food for the orioles and we've been watching them and other birds that come by for a treat. There are many Grey Hawks here and they have a great call, the kind you'd expect from a large raptor. It's quiet in this park and we hear all sorts of bird songs every day.

Interesting folks

When we were in Aticama, on the way back to Mazatlan, we met some interesting people, including a celebrity in the RV world. If you go to this web address - http://blog.vagabonders-supreme.net/ - you will see an ongoing blog by a gentleman who lives in his RV all the time in the Aticama area. I'd been following his blog for a while and looked for him there and sure enough, there he was on the beach. The day we met him he had just lost his traveling mate - Boid - and was feeling awful. He reunited with Boid later that day and was ecstatic. See details of that adventure on his blog.

We also met a couple from Canada who are living permanently on the beach where we stayed. They are having a permanent palapa (thatched roof structure) built with local materials and will park their RV under it.

Nice people who have figured out how to live in Mexico full time.

And now for something completely different...

Here is where we stayed on our way from Puerto Vallarta to Mazatlan. We are now back at our favorite place in Mazatlan for at least a month. It is great to get back!

School's out for the summer!

Well, I did it! This was my last day. Chris, the director loves the job I did and would love me to stay but we have other plans for the immediate future. (Beach and vacation in Mazatlan).
