All about the food...

By now, you all know that we love Mazatlan for its culture, the beaches, the climate.... and, of course the food. Just an example to share with you here - Our favorite little restaurant upstairs in the Mercado (the market in the center of downtown - designed by the Eiffel company) is called Carolina's. Now, when we arrive, the owner knows just what we will be ordering. The best chile relleno in Mazatlan. Please note the rice, the beans and the big fat chile. This meal comes with the best corn tortillas.... mmmmm.......... And the cost for this meal for 2 people is $5 plus tip. Can't beat it with a stick.

And two days ago, we had the sweetest lil Maz food experience. We were actually on a mission to find a good little beach lunch restaurant (we were riding our bikes). Found that them to be a little pricey, so we were on our way back home when we rode by a tortilleria - got a package of hot corn tortillas (50 cents for about 2 dozen) and as we were getting back on our bikes, the MACAROON street vendor walked by. Rest is history. We ate so many tortillas and macaroon. Yum yum yum. And we had enough tortillas left over for Northie's famous smoked tuna tacos... AND for shrimp tacos the next day.

I love you Mazatlan.
