Triumphant Return to Mazatlan

We are back home - filled with so many amazing sights, good food, sweet memories, scary bus rides (Mexico!), perfect beaches, breathtaking sunsets, lovely surprises, comforting moments - full to the brim with good experiences.

And then, back to home, sweet home. We will be putting lots of time over the next day or two into our blog - in between checking emails, unpacking, getting settled in, laundry, etc.....

On The Road Again

Our delightful sense of adventure is taking us to Guadalajara and other places never before seen by our eyes. And a couple of places that we loved so much, we're going back. We plan to return to Mazatlan around mid February. You should be able to tell......
Hasta Luego, Amigos!!!

Air Show

Here's some photos from yesterday's air show at the beach. It was fun, especially when the jet roared over and set off car alarms.

Our gypsy hearts are so satisfied as we share with you our photos and stories about our road trip to Tepic. We left our sea level ocean home and headed up to the beautiful mountains yesterday to a little city very rich in EVERYTHING - farm land, architecture, restaurants, art, history, parks, views... Our friend Fernanda picked us up at around 7am, then a coffee stop, then to the ferry to pick up Ismael and Flor. It was a sweet and fast 3 hour road trip through such beautiful country (imagine going from Santa Fe to Truth or Consequences - so easy). We did a little shopping, climbed the hill (mountain!) with the cross - the 360 degree view was worth the climb, and checked out the best vegetarian restaurant in Mexico. Possibly in all of North America. A little more sightseeing and shopping and a gentle and quiet ride back home. We are already planning a return trip. Maybe even an overnighter.

Paradise Found

Over the past 3 or 4 days, there has been a definite shift in the weather. We are a solid 5 weeks past winter solstice and we are feeling the power of the sun coming on strong. It has been calling us to be out on the beach and also exploring....

We hopped in our trusty truck a couple days ago and headed north a bit to a little coastal village called Marmol (marble) (hey! makes me think "Marmolstein"). On the way, we passed a beautiful hawk, an iguana, a horse and egrets. All good signs... and found a perfect, quiet, pristine beach that we had all to ourselves. We are looking forward to a return trip. And we will be bringing a picnic lunch and plenty of reading material we can nap through.

We found some beautiful rocks, beautiful shells, and even some firewood for our Imbolc fire.

And the days keep getting longer...... Yay!

Most humid place in Mexico

Not only do we not need moisturizer on our skin or in our hair here, but I don't have to water my plants much....

At night there is so much condensation that it sounds like it is raining. And lately, we have been living with fog. My scissors are rusty, all of my pins and needles are rusty, my wire cutters didn't work today because of the rust. Rust is everywhere.

However, I'm not complaining. I feel like I am living in a mysterious, magical kingdom (queendom) that is so beautiful and I LOVE IT! We call it.... The Mists of Mazatlan
